Isaac Asimov's "I, Robot"

Picture
"I, Robot" (see http://ekladata.com/-Byix64G_NtE0xI4A6PA1--o1Hc/Asimov-Isaac-I-Robot.pdf) is a collection of 9 science fiction short stories (preceded by an introduction) by Isaac Asimov. They were written between 1940 and 1950 and were put together into a book in 1950, in an initial edition of 5,000 copies. The stories are woven together by a framing narrative in which the fictional Dr. Susan Calvin tells each story to a reporter in the 21st century. Although the stories can be read separately, they share a theme of the interaction of humans, robots and morality.

This classic collection of stories about a society where humans and robots live and work together on Earth and in outer-space is both unsettling and futuristic.

The 16 activities that make up this RED (Resursă Educațională Deschisă - Open Educational Resource) file some of my ideas of promoting STEM subjects and careers as part of the Scientix's STEM Discovery Week 2017 (24-30 April) with pupils in the classroom and outside of the school. Scientix is coordinated by European Schoolnet.
